I am using a white smart pad with m205 to remove light swirls and scratches. i put the PC at speed 1 and used it until the m205 was translucent, wiped away and it looked good, but the pad was blue (my car is blue) is this normal?

i decided to stop for the day and check with you guys. After i use that i was planning on using 501 then 111 and then S100 carnuba wax. Is this good or should i take something out.

Thanks

Alex

PC at speed 1 to remove swirls? that aint gonna cut it.

BUt to answer your question, sounds like single stage paint or aftermarket paint etc. Was this car repainted or had body work done?

It`s normal in either case. Why are using the PC at speed 1?

Completley normal, as long as you have single-stage paint.

What kind of car do you have?

the car is an acura CL 99, it has maaco paint.

I was using speed 1 because it was my first time using it, should i turn it up to speed 3 to 5?

Yea they Single stage painted it. No clear coat on that. Hence the paint transfer. Perfectly normal. Hopefully Macco didn`t hose you out of a CC.

and to remove scratches with a PC most kick it all the way up and put a ton of pressure on it. I`m not a 100% sure if that`s the only way to do it. I won`t use my PC for defect removal but that seems to be the posted method for doing it.

Type Incredible, check out Dave KG`s manual on using the PC: Machine Polishing By Dual Action Polisher (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=63859). I think you`ll find it helpful. To get an idea what polishing with a PC looks like, watch this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NURjFvmDpEc). I have found particularly helpful a DVD available from ADS: How to Use the PC (http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/pcdvd.html). Hope this helps.

I don`t even think the pc will rotate at speed one.

When polishing its always speed 6. I think I used speed 4 like once to put a glaze on.
