I was curious to how many MF towels/pads/applicators you end up using after a full detail - inside and out?

I left this question vague on purpose. :waxing:

MF Paint Exterior = 5-8

MF Junk Exterior = 5-8

MF Interior = 1-3

Waffle Weave = 2

So I`d say 15-18ish.

MF Polish/Sealant Removal = 3-5

MF Junk (Wheels, Jambs, etc) = 3-5

MF Interior = 1

WW Drying Towels = 1

Total = 8-12

I can go through an easy 15-20 towels in an average detail. one of the reason I have over 300 MF towels at my disposal. I`ve never shy about switching up towels constantly.

The softer and darker the paint is... the more MF`s I use when polishing and doing wipedowns.

I use 2-3x more MF on black cars than I do silver, simply because its easier to marr up a black car with a towel that has excess residual polish on it

This is pretty close to where I am. It also depends on how dirty the vehicle is, I may use a few more!

For interior/exterior with correction work, easily 15-20.

I also bring an empty laundry basket out into the garage while working so I have a safe place to put all of my used MF (don`t let them touch the ground). It also helps to keep the work space organized.

The amount of pads depends on an awful lot of factors. It can be as little as 2 or 3, and as many as 8 or 10 (different sizes, colors, types of polish, etc).

I go through a *LOT* of towels...like Jakerooni I figure it`s a case of better safe than sorry.

I don`t use all that many pads though..

I dunno...speaking as a fanatical owner of silver vehicles, I could argue that "clearcoat is clearcoat and marring is marring" and that if it`d mar black it`ll also mar silver ;) Only diff IMO is that silver is harder to inspect.
