I`m sure this has been discussed, but the search wasn`t working for me.

When you`re finished polishing with a PFW pad, what is the correct way to clean them without damaging the pad? Can they be soaked and rinsed like foam pads?

Yeah, I have some of the XMT pad cleaner. I`ll have to try a little of that and soak/rinse. Just wanted to double check before I tried anything.

Thanks, guys.

Soft bristle toothbrush, a spur brush?

I don`t soak them. I`ve found that they aren`t the same afterwards. I just spur and and allow to dry. next time I just it I re spur and go to it.

I always use a toothbrush for my wool pads. I`d think that would work with PFW as well. Might prolong pad life as well.

Great Succes using the Grit Guard Universal Pad Washer, soaking in light APC solution and regular wash. Came out fine to me

Greg beat me to it. He suggested this to me, and it works great. After they dry, I put them in plastic baggies marked with the polish that PFW is used with. Each pad is assigned it`s own polish, since the abrasives aren`t removed entirely by just spurring them.

I was only getting maybe five uses (at the most) out of a PFW when I was soaking them to clean em. Since I started using the Greg Method of PFW Cleaning, I have yet to wear one out.
