I just had a quick question to everyone.

What are the microfiber towels you use for say, wheels, engine bay, door jambs? Like the dirty work where you don`t want the "good" MF`s to be used.

I usually just buy the bulk set at Sam`s Club.

Any other cheap suggestions? I kind of prefer it to be local and not have to be bought online.

Thanks guys,

- Andy

I used to buy the Microtex junk ones at Wal-Mart, but they seem to have nicer junk ones now (same price, IIRC). They have those really cheap ones at Target. If you buy a big package you can usually get them for about 50 cents each; dunno how that compares to the Sam`s club.

I use the Vroom from target. They actually are decent. ADS also sells a dozen for $10. Thats pretty cheap.

Instead of junk micro fiber - I switched to good ol cotton. Much more durable and frankly I hate the feel of microfiber. -if it`s on a surface that can`t get scratched I choose cotton/terry cloth, no contest.

Locally, my Wal-mart has a pack of 8 for $5 though...

when my MF/towels get worn/stained they get switched over to this type of grunge duty then just buy new as needed

I really see no difference between the costco yellow mfs and orange vroom towels for junk towels. 36 towels for like $15 from costco or like $12 for 12 from target. Its a no brainer for which one to go with

I wouldnt use either for paint. Costcos actually feel softer to the touch to me than targets. Actually, at my target, they dont even sell the 12 packs any more. I only see 8 packs.

I use the costco ones once, maybe twice at the most and just toss them. Theyre so cheap that it really doesnt hurt to grab a new one

I use the MF`s that get old and grungy and keep a rotation. When they are too gross for the junk duties, they get tossed. Usually its the door jambs/hinges and german brake dust that push them over the edge.

I use Vroom MF towels from Target for allot of uses. They don`t last very long, but they`re fine for one or two uses and then they get down graded to "grunge" duty. I also got a few packs from Harbor Freight and they also seem to be pretty good towels. They seem to get softer as they get older.

I just buy the 100 pack from ADS for $70. Great al-purpose MF for ~.70 cents each!

The ADS towels are very nice towels for the money too.

Water $mart Eco Detailing Tip

In this model, you tend to use many Micro Fiber Towels.

When you can no longer trust on paint ... cut the corners, use for rims, etc
