springtime is here so im gonna do a major detail soon. car is black sapphire metallic.

this was my plan last time and i liked the results....

wash, clay, wash, P21S GEPC, then collinite 845.

looking to replace the collinite and finally give a synthetic a try.

after reading tons of forum posts on here and sifting through cost/benefits of various products ive settled on NXT/M21 or one of the Duragloss products.

DG105 looks promising but im concerned since it says its a "cleaner/polish" and id rather not fuss with the GEPC (love how it darkens the black metallic paint). so the next logical step would be DG111. opinions?

looking at NXT and #21, but concerned with the longevity.

any opinions would be welcome.

many thanks

DG 111 is a nice sealant. Outo of your choices I would go with 111

Just remember that you shouldn`t put a sealant over a wax based glaze like GEPC

For the most part, sealants will not adhere to oils and waxes. You can give it a shot, of course, but don`t be surprised if you either don`t get good results or the sealant has greatly reduced durability.

Generally, it`s ok to put *waxes* over sealants, but not sealants over waxes or oil based glazes.

SuperBee, can I put DG 601 and DG 105 over a layer of Poor Boy`s Black Hole glaze?

I wouldn`t. I dont` think you will get the durability that you are looking for out of DG. You might also have some bonding issues with the 601 applied over Black Hole.

My process will be to wash, clay, clean paint with DG 501, correct with Menz SIP, IP and 106FF, seal with DG 601/105 combo and top off with a layer of Woflgang Fuzion.

Is there any way I can work the Black Hole into that? It`s a dark green car and I`m looking forward to the extra gloss the glaze could provide.

If you prep the paint properly, you won`t need a glaze to get the "extra gloss". If you are dead set on using a glaze, DWG is a great one and it`s acrylic, so it works with sealants and won`t cause any bonding issues.
