PO85RD / Finishing Pad is my got combo to remove old waxes and sealants. It leaves a awesome finish ready for a glaze & wax or any LSP. Is M205 a better product. How does it compare ???

M205 has the ability to cut more IMO, but I find it to finish off just as good as PO85RD. I think you are better off with the Menz for what you are doing. I would maybe even suggest looking into something less aggressive.

Yeah you are right. At times I use RMG and that pretty well removes all waxes.

Why don`t you use a soap solution that is meant to remove wax and then clay?

Yeah I could use the soap solution. In fact I have some of FK-1119 which is meant to remove wax. But the finish is very smooth so there is no need to clay. The RX8 never gets to see rain.

Meguiar`s #9 works great for removing wax.

Man, that is cool... I wish I could keep my baby out of the rain/snow, but it`s my daily driver.

Kinda off topic... sorry... but could I talk you out of some pictures? RX8`s are gorgeous cars, and one that`s properly detailed.... well, you just gotta post some pics!

P085RD leaves a wetter look. The M205 look is smooth and reflective but looks a bit sterile.

Have you tried both products on the same paint to find that? Or just comparing results from different details that used different products? (Truly curious). :bounce

I have not used M205 but I will say PO85RD leaves a great finish. It is so good you hate to put on a LSP.

I have and could not see a difference. Though to be fair it was snowing and I was comparing indoors with different lights.
