New M105/M205 tag team on a GMC 2500HD

I did this vehicle a little while back, but since I`m still new to Autopia I thought I`d share some of my work... ;)





BIG TRUCK!



I only had 6-8 inches of room to spare getting this truck in the shop...really made working on the front and back difficult.





Products and tool used:



-Gold Class car soap

-APC

-APC+

-Wheel Brightner

-Hot Rims Chrome polish

-Hyper Dressing

-M40

-Meguiars Glass Cleaner

-Mild Clay

-LGM

-Various brushes

-New DA approved M105 on the rotary with a wool pad

-M205 on the rotary with a foam polishing pad

-M205 on the FLEX 3401 with a finishing pad

-Wolf Gang DGPS 3.0





It was dark when the truck showed up and I didn`t want to let all the heat out of the shop just to take before pics. Prior to washing, the truck was cover in lots of dirt and salt...



I was pretty rushed on time, so pics are not the best.

you said you used the DA approved 105 with the rotary. why didn`t you use it with a DA, or use the regular 105 with the rotary? or did you have a typo. just wondering if there is a difference

The new DA approved version has a little longer working time than the none DA approved stuff. Just because it`s approved for DA use doesn`t mean it can`t be used with a rotary. ;)



This was also my first vehicle with the new M105 and I was eager to try it out, and given the size, a DA would have taken much longer.

I actually open the door and stand on the step plates inside. I will lean slightly with my back/side against the door standing close to the side with the hinges. I will also stand in the box to get the back portion of the roof.



Make sense?



Lets just say it`s not my favorite area of the vehicle to polish. :D

what you should do is rig up some system that lets you hang mission impossible status from the roof. that would be so pimp.



looks pretty dang sick. im sure he was really happy when he got it, but pissed when he got home and realized what the snow did to it. haha:D

Yeah, detailing in MN wnters sucks. I feel bad some times but it will still look good when they wash it again. The owner gave me a large tip on this truck so I provided him with a little wash kit (Megs GC, WW MF towels, Grit guard) as well as a write up on using them. ;)

First off nice work Rasky, second off you guys are really taking chances standing on those things while you polish the roofs....:nervous2:



Just go to Lowes or HD and buy a 20` platform, they are perfect for SUV`s, trucks and tall cars and they`re only like $40 bucks.:bigups
