So my buddy wanted me to do some work on his Ford Ranger, including brakes and oil change. Then he wanted the interior cleaned on his truck. He tells me not to go overboard because he will just trash it again but to clean it up for the most part. Here is what I saw when he got it to me:

Taken with my cell....sorry:

and yes you do see a card for a girl on the floor....one of those call now for a good time....knowing him, he probably called

And for fun his brakes:

paper thin front half the rotor:

What amazes me is that he has this pile of junk but he also has a 2008 4-Runner that gets washed every other day and is so clean on the inside you would think it just came off the showroom floor.

Anyway, I will try to get some finished pics tonight if I get a chance.

Im thinking $100 for the oil change, brakes change, and interior cleaning. Anyone think that price is fair?

Well he is a good friend and he was in my wedding and built my stone mailbox so I don`t want to go overboard with the price.

$100 is not fair regardless if he is a friend. If I was your friend, I would feel ashamed taking advantage of you for $100 to fix all that, thats NASTY!:down:down

Even if he supplied the parts for the brakes and oil, I would still not do all that work for $100.

Maybe $300.00.

If he`s a good buddy 100 sounds fair if he is paying for the parts too, it is a regular cab ranger with plastic floor, that interior could be clean in a hour.

Maybe $300.00.

Call me crazy but $400 would be more in the ballpark. I guess it depends on how good of a "friend" he is. He could have at least thrown away all of the trach for you. :werd:

yeah def depends on how good of a friend he is and if he bought the parts. A brake job on my car will run me $900 at a good mechanic that I have known for years. Then again it is a bmw

100.00, even a crackhead looking for his next hit would charge more.

Brakes and oil change should be 175.00 if he`s a friend.

That interior should be 100.00 at least, if he has any sort of hopes of it coming out more than decent I would go straight to 175.00. That car is gross and you`ll be working on that interior forever to get it straight.

Well the flooring is plastic but the issue is that Ford flooring is VERY hard to clean because of the pit like texture to it. I scrubbed it with a brush and it took multiple goes so, in total wiht the oil change, brakes, and cleaning, it took me about 5hrs. He did supply the oil and brake parts.

I dont think I would have charged my friend more than $100 either. However, my friend would have been out there with me, doing half the work.
