1999 Chevy Corvette. The owner has never had a detail done and really wasn`t sure what to expect. He really wasn`t looking for perfection (needs some minor body work/repainting behind the right rear wheel due to a scrape) but to clean up the finish and add some protection.

Started with an ONR wash and clay. The paint was really gritty and there was also overspray all over the top half and driver`s side. The paint could really use a rotary but he wasn`t interested in the additional charges (due to the needed paint/body work), so I went over the car with Meguiars #105 via G110 using a yellow Meguiars polishing pad. Actually did better on the spider swirls than I expected, knocked them down pretty good. I followed with Optimum Finsih (the official name of the new finishing polish) using a black LC CCS finishing pad and sealed the paint with Clearkote`s Carnauba Moose.

Hopefully once the needed repairs are made, the owner will allow me to take the finish to the next level.

2003 Mercedes SL500. Hadn`t seen the car in a few years and was suprised how nice the paint still looked (interior was another matter). Just needed some light claying while washing with ONR. The paint only needed a *light* polishing so I went with Optimum Finish (the official name of the new finishing polish) via G100 and a black LC CCS finishing pad.

These first shots are after polishing with Finish, no LSP.

I sealed the paint with Opti-Seal and after dressing the interior, went over the paint with Optimum Car Wax.

==============

A couple pictures of my car, 6 weeks (or is it 7 now?) after applying Optimum Coating. Only been washing car my conventionally using the soap at the coin-op in conjunction with Meguiars NXT Wash. No ONR, no QD`s. Really odd just washing and drying my car but I want to see just how well the coating holds up. Water still flies off the car like in the video I posted. The paint still look freshly waxed. BTW, I took this picture today (Thursday) and had washed my car last Friday, so you can see how nicely Armor All holds up and my ceramic brake pads keep the wheels clean. I did apply the coating to the wheels too.

Nice work Scott. I too like Armor All, but Optimum tire gel is really nice.

Is Optimum Finish the same as Optimum Final Finish Polish :think:

Also any updates on the release of Opti Coating?

So far I really like it. Haven`t tried it with the rotary yet so I don`t know how it compares to Ultrafina with regards to a swirl free finish.

Derek-This is the ad copy on autogeek: Optimum Finish Polish, car polish, finishing polish, polish finish, black car polish, show car polish (http://www.autogeek.net/optimum-finish-polish.html)

They call it Finish Polish but the bottle (as mine does) says Optimum Finish. Interesting that it suggests a polishing pad, however, I`d think for swirl free finishes with the rotary it would be best to try a finishing pad.

Jeff-regular spray Armor All.
