The foam lance came in this week, so I was eager to try it out... Here are some photos. It can be purchased from PolishedBliss.com - Website Currently Unavailable (http://www.PolishedBliss.com)

I used approx. 3oz. of DP Extreme Foam car wash soap and the rest of the bottle filled with water.

Cost? I can do almost that good with a strong soap mix and a $8 Ortho weed sprayer.

What would be the advantage of doing something like that?

looks good. what type of pressure washer did you use that with or was that with the garden hose?

Also, how much was shipping as this came from the U.K. and did they charge you VAT?

EDIT: found the answer to the shipping and VAT questions from their website by adding to cart and starting the checkout process. There is no VAT and shipping is 12.67 pounds (~$18.28). total cost would be about ~$78 shipped.

Cost?

It bought the item another forum member that purchased some items from PolishedBliss.com - Website Currently Unavailable (http://www.PolishedBliss.com). My cost was $70 shipped.

The purpose is to lift and loosen the dirt on the surface of the paint. So that when you apply a wash medium the dirt on the surface is already softened/loosened for easy removal. A good pre-rinse with a power washer, then a foaming and let dwell for 5 or so minutes ( as long as it doesn`t dry) and re-rinse, a considerable amount of the dirt may be rinsed away, leaving a minimal amount for the wash media to pick up and risk paint induced marring.

I was using a Craftsman gas-powered pressure washer.

Thanks for replying to my question. I may try doing that.

I bought a foam gun from Autogeek and love it so much, I want to buy one for my pressure washer also. It would just make things easier not having to switch the hose from the foam gun to the pw.

If you have a foam gun already, using the right amount of soap makes a good amount of foam/suds. The foam lance is just that on roids.

My main reason for purchasing the foam lance was so that I could use it with the pressure washer while already running it, and also to disperse a denser foam so that it will cling longer on the paint surface to ultimately reduce marring while washing.

Plus it`s fun as hell!

There are reasons for quick disconnects ;)

I use a gilmour one that has a valve in it so I can just turn it off with the valve and use it to sheet water after. Very handy :bigups

I washed our Corolla today and tried the foam lance with the Optimum soap this time. Same approx. dosage of 3oz. like the prior wash.

Definitely, Optimum Car wash is the winner. These photos were taken not long after the car was foamed. However the foam did not drip off much more than that. It stayed on the paint. :bigups

BTW: the Optimum soap took care of whatever was left of the LSP on the roof. Water was barely cascading off of the roof.

Yes, I am aware of the quick disconnects, however, we have extremely low water pressure where I live, so to foam with the foam gun is fine, however, to rinse takes forever which is why I foam with the foam gun, wash and then switch to the pressure washer to rinse. Hence, the need to possible invest in a lance for the pressure washer.

Lance looks like it does a Great job. I have a gun similar to the Gilmore. I purchased it at PRI Industries. I use it with my pressure washer. I`m still working on the quick disconnects. Where do you live? You don`t have any problems with the run off? I don`t as of yet in Ohio. But that looked like alot of soap!
