So I own a 2003 Toyota Tacoma that has had one previous owner which was my dad. He took very good care of the truck.

When I got it, I made sure to give it a basic wash and do what any normal person would do. So I did nothing extreme like waxing or clay or anything of that matter.

I am here to learn and I would like to know the basic steps to keeping a clean inside and outside vehicle, including engine, etc.

1.So I guess my first question is, after doing a basic wash what are somethings I can do? In what order?

2. What is the difference between clay, polish, wax, compound and all this ? I am getting pretty lost as I read about those.

I was looking on Meguiars site and get so lost in there consumer products. I don`t need anything expensive, just basic stuff i can buy in your advanced auto parts, or napa.

Help me out here! All is appreciated!

Yeah one of the best ways I learned was to look at the details people have done in the Click and Brag section. As much as it may pain you, make sure you read the processes that the people go through.

Basically, read as much as you can, and in no time at all, you will be using our lingo and be as broke as us :D

Here is my best advice to you:

Use Menzerna exclusively. I do and the results are awesome!

Call Proper Auto Care in Tampa, they will help you.

I have boiled everything down to 4 steps, as recommended by PAC:

Detailing - 4 Steps:

Proper Auto Care recommends:

Step 1 - BLACKFIRE PolyClay II with BF Lubricant

Step 2 - Menzerna PO106FF Polish using the White pads

(Polish)

Step 3 - Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze using the Black pads

(Glaze)

Step 4 - Menzerna Full Molecular Jacket using the Red pads

(Seal)

PS - I am a customer of theirs, not a salesman, but they have helped me tremendously.

I also used a Porter Cable Random Orbit Polisher.
