View Full Version : Claying side panels

How do you do that?

It`s relatively easy to do it on horizontal panels, but for the side panels, how do you avoid clay lube dripping? (And dripping lube doesn`t do a good job at lubricating anymore.)

Thanks.

I usually just spray on enough to keep it lubed up and work my way down so I`m cleaning it up as I go. Hard to fight gravity.

I always clay while washing and use the soap solution as lube.

I usually just turn the car on its side so the lube doesn`t run off. (rim shot)

I also work from top down, but to get rid of any left over residue from the clay, I will do a quick IPA wipe down when finished and before going onto the next step.

Ive found that this leads to a bit of marring on the side that touches the ground, so I stopped doing this.

I guess I just try to mist it as fine as possible, or spray a bit above the area so that when it does run down, its in the correct area.
