I have always waxed my cars by hand with all kinds of waxes. I have a dewalt buffer with wool pads what can i do with those pads can i remove the was off teh car with them. i am new to this so any help would be great thanks..

Wool pads are for polishing. Apply waxes and remove waxes by hand. Some do use a DA to apply and remove.

yes it is a rotary. now i have always just waxed my cars is polishing another step. sorry if this is dumb?

it`s not dumb you just have a ton of reading to do

start with the "how to" tab @ the top of the page

then read these threads:

and in a month when you are done reading ask questions as needed



yes polishing is a seperate step to remove defects in the paint

do youself and us a favor and just leave the rotary on the shelf for a bit

thanks alot that is very helpfull. there is one thing i also wax my boat alot and i have seen the detailing companys use a machine buffer to remove was and it puts a great shine on the boat. are boats the same as cars when it comes to this.. thnaks...

I am willing to bet that that are polishing first(or using a product that both polishes and waxes) and that is where the shine comes from like most things in life it all about the prep
