1) Thoroughly clay (assuming it is needed)

2) Paint Cleanser(PCs)/All-In-Ones(AIOs), PCs are generally non-abrasive and have chemical cleaners that leave little to no protection/wax/sealant behind. These include P21S GEP/KAIO/Wolfgang/Danase Pure Polish/etc.

AIOs generally have light abrasives and/or chemical cleaners and leave little to moderate protection/wax/sealant behind. These include PB PwS/ZAIO/DG521/OPS/etc.

You have a lot of choices and for the non-pro, an AIO may be more versatile than a traditional paint cleanser.

IPA or isopropyl alcohol or rubbing alcohol. Which ever you`d like to call it, same thing. Dilute it 50/50 in a spray bottle with water and wipe the car down.

Agreed. A pre wax isn`t really needed, but a nice prep like mentioned above with some sort of clay followed by an AIO polish would be ideal.

I use Klasse AIO before Collinite 845. I love the combination. KAIO has a slight cleaning ability, but zero abrasives. If you have swirls and scratches you will need to use polishes prior to the AIO.

I`m going to be trying Prime Carnauba before 915.

Would RMG before Collonite be too much or the RMG would lessen the bonding of Collonite ?

I have always used AIO/ZAIO before Collonite or FK1000P.

Thanks just wondering.

I have read that people use the 845 first then top it with the 476 and have great results. I guess the durability is really good. I will give it a shoot soon.

I`ve been using 845 for decades... if the finish isn`t in need of correction almost any cleaner/light polish works well.

The other day I tried something different, I`d noticed the glossier finishes of sealents but wasn`t wild about their plastic-look. After correction and IPA wipedown I applied Jetseal 109, my first-ever use of a sealent. I was impressed with the gloss and shine as well as ease of use. I then topped with 845 and was astounded! Pretty tough to get white to truly `pop` but there isn`t any other way to describe it.

I did a 50/50 on the hood topping the 845 with 915. After initial application I can`t say as I see any visible difference on white. The 845 is considerably more slippery and much easier to apply and remove. Well see about the endurance....

Last October I tried some ColorX on my wife`s car and then topped it with a layer of 845. I had emailed the manufacturer about ColorX, and they replied that it would not cause any bonding issues. The car was still beading strong 8 weeks later. Then a warm day appeared in mid-December, so I washed the car and threw on another coat of 845 to take me through the rest of the winter. I don`t know if it needed it or not, but one has to take advantage of warm days when they appear.

Everyone has pretty much nailed it on the head but just make sure your surface is prepped well. Use very thin coats of 845, too much and it will be streaky.

Collinite have there own prewax product, its a pretty good paintwork cleaner if you have any minor oxidation or stains its effective by hand.

Will collinite bound over Z-AIO?
