REMIX

I am an amateur, just detail my own cars. This forum has been invaluable to me.
The car is a 1970 Chevelle SS 454. It`s a clone, born as a 307/200hp Malibu, but it was done pretty tastefully and is mostly correct. It`s now a LS6, 450hp recreation. I picked it up a few months ago and went about getting it into shape. The paint was so-so with a few warts here and there and I`ve managed to get it into shape for the most part. There are some chips and such which are beyond detailing, so I will address that later on somehow.
Initially the engine compartment also wasn`t all that great, but I`ve managed to "correct" some things and get it closer to what it would have been like originally, including finding original decals and such. It was very dirty and I cleaned it using some Simple Green and agitated it with a soft bristle paintbrush. I sanded down some parts where the paint had flaked and I then masked off various parts and used a variety of hobby brushes and engine enamel to "repaint" it in Chevy orange. A real PITA. Came out pretty good I think. Afterward I used Aerospace 303 to dress it. See the engine "befores" below.
I just bought some M07 and will probably wash it again today and then go about putting a coat of that on followed up with some NXT 2.0. I would like to try some P21S here soon and see what I think of that.
The car has won 2 trophies so far in 3 shows. I would like to pick up a rotary and work on the finish some more. I due time.
What I used:
Megs Detail Clay
Megs NXT 2.0
On the rubber and vinyl top:
Megs 40
Aerospace 303
Chrome:
Never Dull
Tires:
Megs 40 works pretty well

Clay Bar first time, looks like a lot of red overspray was on the car.
