Has anyone used Meguiar`s #66 Quick Detailer(one step wax) and Mother`s Cleaner Wax?

Can you compare the two? Which is more agressive, more durable, better shine, easier application?

Which do you prefer as a one step product for dealer jobs?

Thanks

Are you referring to Megs #6 Cleaner Wax or Megs #66 Quick Detailer?

Because #66 and Mother`s Cleaner Wax are completely different things.

I mean #66 "Quick Detailer" which only comes in 1 gallon jugs. It is not really a quick detailer, it is a cleaner wax which is at 4 on their abraisiveness scale. #6 cleaner wax is less agressive.

The name is a real source of confusion since we all think of quick detailer as a post wax spray, but not in this case.

"QUICK DETAILER
· A one-step cleaner/wax, specially formulated for high-production .reconditioning
· Quickly and safely removes oxidation and blemishes
· Restores deep gloss and provides a durable wax finish"

To my knowledge this is just like any QD spray. Its sold in the US in spray bottles buff on and wipe off. It doesnt even begin to compare to a real wax job, if its not this, then I am SERIOUSLY confused.

That`s the right picture but I can`t imagine being able to spray this stuff on.

Dwayne can you clear this up?

Yep the name is misleading... it is Meguiars #66 Quick Detailer but it is certainly no QD by our definition of the word....

Meguiars #66 Quick Detailer is in fact a cleaner wax that is to be applied by hand or machine....

Very popular with pro detailers and very easy to wipe on and wipe off.... somewhat effective for removing oxidation, especially when used by a machine such as a PC or Gem orbital.

Best regards,

Dwayne

It has been my experience that the #66 is a little more abrassive than mothers cleaner wax. It removes (or hides) swirls faster and more effectively. I like the Mother`s cleaner wax for a cheap one step product, but my limited experience with #66 is that it is a superior product. Again my experience is limited so I may change my mind next week. I also can`t tell you about durability yet.

I know a pro detailer in Louisiana who uses the Meg`s product and likes it. He previously used a cleaner wax from Pro Wax but I guess he has switched over to the Meg`s #66.

Haven`t seen him here in a long time. He goes by the name of Raildust here.

I use #66 all the time on my regular monthly maintenance clients vehicles. It does clean up and shine the paint. You will get a deeper shine out of it. I also "zap" vehicles with it with a rotory buffer and a foam pad for a quick one step shine and protection. Don`t expect #66 to last more than a month or so.
