In a thread on another forum the topic of scratches during winter came up.

One guy mentions that all it takes to remove them is a clay-bar and wax.

Well youll probably get minor minor swirls from brushing snow off your car, having sheets of ice slide off your hood on a day above 0 degrees and stuff like that. Buts its nothing a little clay bar and wax cant fix in the summer. You have a black car so its inevitable!!!

My reply:

You are aware a clay-bar and any wax will not remove swirls. right?

His reply:

Your are aware that you dont know what your talking about. right?

Someone elses reply: in my defense

You are aware that you are wrong...

GTPAUL is right, clay bar will in no way remove swirls. Neither will ANY (keep in mind he said "any" wax) wax.

Once clay bar`d, you would need to use a wax that works with swirls. Not any wax will remove swirls, you`d have to get the good stuff

His reply:

That is what I meant. I dont use generic crap anyway. I am talking about light swrils here. Not I use dirty harsh kitchen sponges everytime I wash my car then use brown paper towels to dry my car swirls.

Also, Id just like to add that I was a detailer for pfaff porsche for over a year and a half and there are products (waxes and claybars) that DO remove swirls without a buffer.

I rarley broke it out and when I did the scratches were ones that required compound and polish.

I speak from expirience.

Some folks just will not be told, will they?

Ask him to name these miracle clays & waxes that remove swirls & defy the laws of physics. I`m sure we would all love to use them.

Hell, while you`re at it, ask if he wants to buy some magic beans from me.

Oh &

Your just a sleezeball who takes advantage of people who dont know how to do the work themselves.

I say the same thing about doctors & firemen.
