Hey guys, my wife just bought this car. It has 114,000 miles on it and had one owner. The car was "detailed" by a local brick & mortar place. I`ll be updating this post when I finish with the interior and engine compartment. I don`t have a D/A or a rotory, so everything`s done by hand for now. On to the pics.

Engine - Used Meguiar`s APC and various brushes. Dressed with 303:

Here you can see the driver`s headlight is dim. I bought and installed two new headlights:

The previous owner apparently pulled too close to a curb/parking stop and tore the chin spoiler and part of the wheel wells with it. Here`s the new and old wheel well:

This car was parked outside under trees most of it`s life. I`m guessing this based on the amount of compost between the body and wheel well cover:

Wheels not up to Autopian standards, but certainly improved. I`ll have to go over them again:

The tint isn`t all around, as if some was removed. Plus it was going purple. We`ll get it re-tinted, but the shop wanted $90 to remove three windows worth:

As you can see, I have more to do with the rear glass:

Well that`s it for now, but once I finish the interior and engine, I`ll update the post with the pics. Thanks for looking. - Adam

that rear glass is going to be a pain. Having had removed window tint for a tint shop before, be careful on that glass. Do not use a razor blade, or if you do, make sure not to scrape the defroster lines. If you have access to one, get a wall paper steamer, this will soften the adhesive and help you get that nasty tint off. Though i will say too, with the steamer, old tint tends to stink.

Also if adhesive is still on the glass and its not coming off, mix a little ammonia and water and spray. Use a dish sponge and it will come off the glass.

Thanks for the tips SFL. That tint adhesive is nasty stuff.

I`ll definitely watch out for the defroster lines. I`ll be using a razor to start it and pulling slowly as not to tear it unnecessarily...then following with goof off for the adhesive. It`s going to be an annoying angle!

Can I ask how much you paid?

$4,500, but then spent $200 on the well covers, chin spoiler, and accessories...so $4,700 total

Nice job so far. When I buy a new (used) car I do the same as you with cleaning the wheel wells and other areas that normal car owners overlook.

Yeah, it kind of makes me feel like I get the car for a good deal. The seller might go down in price because of the exterior condition, but I know I can improve it dramatically.

Very nice work. This is the right way to start a relationship with a new [to you] car.

Southie, near Brodie and Slaughter. I don`t have any friends, want to hang out and detail some time?
