How does Optimum Hyper Compound compare to Meguairs M105? I`m working on a couple of white cars, and while M105 helps a lot it doesn`t seem to be getting rid of all the defects. So how does the Hyper Compound compare?

I haven`t used this product myself but from what many others have said, the cut is rather mild by comparison with other heavy cutting compounds.

Nevertheless, I think you may need to improve your technique rather than just go out and buy another bottle which won`t help you.

I`ve had no issues with m105 removing heavy defects even with a Flex.

Like Holden said above^ check your technique

I have both, and to me hyper compound cuts more like a medium polish than a compound.

What are your application methods and tools?

I use a wool pad on a rotary.

I used M105 with wool and wasn`t happy and I switched to PFW, and it was a big difference. The work time was way too short with wool and the results were less than stellar. PFW and M105 is awesome, you can correct and get close to perfect finishing down.

I`ve had excellent results using #105 with a foam polishing pad, like Meguiars 8006 pads. Switching to wool doesn`t seem to greatly improve the cut and leaves more swirls behind to polish out.

Hyper Compound isn`t as aggressive as #105 but might be good as a follow-up.

I found that Hyper Compound doesn`t cut as well, and leaves more marring behind then M105.

I have used Hyper and found it exactly like Scott - works with wool, but leaves swirls to be polished out. I`ve yet to try M105 with foam polishing pad - thanks for the tip.
