A beautiful car. I`d love to get one some day, but not at that markup. The MSRP on those is about $150k, for that extra $90,000 I could get an original GT40, a car that is more attractive, better performing (in street-illegal race trim  ), and actually worth what is being asked. When orignal GT owners go to sell their cars they`ll find that the dealer markup only served to devalue their cars later on. Also, the fact that it`s on a showroom floor means it probably has buffer trails somewhere.

I see them all the time around here. Mostly manufacturer cars and Kid Rock. LOL They are very nice cars indeed. Paying that much for a Ford would kill me though!

Nope the 03/04 Cobra motors use a supercharged 4.6 this has (I think) the lighting truck 5.4 motor.

Why because it doesn`t carry an Italian name?? Ford (or Ford expansions) offer cars that line up next to any exotic car out there. The Saleen S7 comes to mind Saleen flies you in measures from head to toe and builds the car around YOU. When the car is done Saleen again pays you to be flown in and make sure you`re happy and drive it home or have it transferred to your location. Not bad for a Ford name huh, I`m not bashing you by any means and if it sounds that way I do apologize, but for some reason some people are under the impression that all Fords equals cheap. Here a pic of the S7

Saleen isn`t a Ford brand, they did most of the body work on the Ford GT because Ford didn`t have the composite laboratories needed. Saleen is a Mustang tuner, that`s all they ever were. They also made some of the most kickass built-to-order engines you`ve ever seen. The S7 was a car that Mr. Saleen (not an employee of FoMoCo) designed completely in house and fabricated from the ground up with a small team of some of the best engineers in the world. It`s the only car I`ve ever seen that can have an 11:1 compression ratio and still run fairly high pressure twin turbos. It makes enough downforce to stick to a ceiling at 160 MPH. If you want to verify these numbers go here (http://www.saleen.com/saleen_s7_performance.htm).

Yeah, my buddy at Saleen actually puts the racing stripes on the GT. I forgot all about that until you mentioned it.

That`s why I also said "or expansion" cause in a way that`s what they are. Ford allows them to use there base models (Saleen s281, s281E, Roush stage 1/2/3, Steeda Q400, SVT, SVO, SVE) and use the mustang body (and truck)with upgrade through out. Not sure it this was just a rumor or not, but Ford gave Steeda there EEC configurations which was closely gaurded by Ford and no one else has it.

Personally I think calling the S7 a Ford is like calling the Shelby Series 1 a Ford. They are independed brand names. Steve Saleen does do a lot of work on Fords, that is true, but the S7 is his own brand no matter where the parts are from. It would be like calling the Chrysler Crossfire a Mercedes just because it has more German parts in it than domestic.
