Clay Bar Over Collinite 476

I Recently Applied One Coat Of Collinite 476 To My Car. Is It Too Late The Clay The Car Or Should I Remove The Collinite Then Clay?

Its never too late to clay the car, but you`ll need to re-apply the wax after you`re done

waymay1305- Think of it this way: if you want to clay stuff off the *paint* you have to get down through the wax to reach the stuff. If, OTOH, you want to clay stuff off the *wax* you can do that without compromising the wax if you do it gently enough.



Sounds like you want to do the former, so you need to get through the wax, so you`ll need to rewax.

I agree, you should re-wax. It would be a nice experiment if you leave a small panel unwaxed though, I`m guessing that the 476 will still be around after claying, at least most of it.... just compare the next time it rain and re-wax if needed.

Honestly, if it were mine I`d probably just leave it alone. Unless there`s something really nasty under the 476S (e.g., rust-blooms) I wouldn`t worry about not having clayed it. Much as I love clay, people got by fine without it for a long, long time ;)

I agree. As much as want to do my first clay job, I am going to wait until spring and do a full detail.
