Hi Guys,
I have a Black 07 Tahoe and had a question on the body side molding (door ding molding). While using the rotary I accidently rubbed the side of a foam pad (black CCS) against the molding and it scuffed it up. I know it`s my fault for not taping the molding up, but these new moldings seem extremely prone to damage.
From what I can tell, the surface of the molding is not painted (I`ve already tried the wetsanding buffing approach with an improved yet not great result), and it`s not the hard plastic either. It`s almost like a layer of colored 3m urethane film on the outside of the body side molding.
I think I`ll be forced to wet sand and buff a little further to improve the look.
Anyone have any advice for repairing a scuff on this material?
Thanks - Bob D
