My Makita is coming in tomorrow and I wanted to ask if there is a suitable backing plate that I can find locally, i.e. NAPA, CarQuest, etc.. to utilize the 5" CCS pads that I use on my UDM.

I also have some 6.5" CCS pads also, white, blue and an orange pad that I would like to use. I imagine that the backing plate that comes with the unit may be too big for the 5" pads?

I`m gonna go watch some YouTube rotary buffing videos :woot2:

Auto paint stores will have BP`s but they`ll be expensive and possibly not as good as what you can get online.

Harbor Freight has cheap ones in various sizes. 3, 5, and 7" I believe.

I think the stock Makita is 7" or so. It`s big! Works best with 7.5" pads or 8" wool, etc.
