My wife and I work with a local dog rescue. They house @ 300 dogs. My wife and I have a soft spot for the large hounds, and pitbulls, so whenever they get in one of these that is an abuse or abandonment case, or has a health issue we`ll take the dog to our house, train and rehab it, and once we have gotten the dog to the point of making a good pet for someone, we take it back to them to adopt out. We typically work with 20 dogs per year.

This car belongs to the people that own the rescue. In addition to taking care of the 300 dogs, they also work full time jobs. Needless to say, they don`t have much time to do things for themselves, like taking vacations, or even cleaning their car, so I wanted to do this for them for FREE - plus, I knew the interior would be BAD, and I wanted a challenge. I had some free time over the weekend, and they had about 5 and a half hours for me to take their car and detail it for them.

I picked the car up, brought it back and photographed the condition.

Well, I brushed and vacuumed...for 2 and a half hours I vacuumed. I used an assortment of brushes and rags, and even the rubber gloves I was wearing to clean the carpet. I had some kind of foaming interior cleaner in the truck that I also used on the carpets. I mixed up 3:1 water / APC, and started trying to wipe down all the surfaces. I found I needed some lubricity, so I added a shot of Woolite. I again used a variety of brushes, a screwdriver, mf rags, and terry cloth rags to clean the interior. Once clean, I dressed with Meguiar`s 40, and used 1Z`s Leather care on the seats.

Now, to the exterior...

After doing the interior (which was my main concern), I had an hour and a half left to work on the exterior. I soaked it in P21S, and hit the wheels, tires, and wells with 3:1 APC / water. I then washed with Dawn. After the Dawn wash, I foamed with 1Z Pearls, and clayed with Automagic Blue, then rinsed and dried. I then took care of some scuffs with M105 and a foam applicator by hand, and waxed with Optimum Car Wax. Tires and wells were dressed with Majestic Solutions Poly Pro dressing.

Wow, that interior came out unbelievable!!

I did a Lincoln Town Car once for a guy that had a huge dog. It was the most dog hair I have ever seen and it was not fun at all.

The exterior looks great as well!

I`m sure they really appreciate you helping them out. I`m sure it will pay off somehow in the long run...

Great work!

Those original interior shots are making me sick. That was dirtier than I have ever let my old Jeep get! Always good to see a cleaned interior.

Great work David. 4.5hrs to do that interior is "getting it done" Even with an extractor and steamer, I would of taken longer then that.

I agree with the others, the world needs more people like you. And the car looks great now from being awful before. I know how hard dog hair is to get out of carpet.
