He normally has surf racks on the thing, but after I cut my hand on them while washing, I took them off and he is going to leave them off for the time being until he can get back in the water (skin cancer surgery on head). He is also going to get them powdercoated to match the color of the bus...will look really nice when done!
anyway...this is a single stage repaint. seemed to soak up the megs polishing oils quite well as it cleaned up quickly and efficiently and came out 95% defect free with one pass of each product before the glaze application. Then after glaze, it was more like 97-98% defect free...you had to be laying on the paint, in the correct light, at the right angle to see anything left in the paint.
The car was rearended and when it came back from the bodyshop, the color matched near perfectly, but the holograms/buffer trails were a plenty! the whole rear end looked to have an orange tint to it once out from the body shop in the bright sun; while in the shade, it matched 98% (hard paint code to get (long story short - guy who painted it switched computer systems and was too busy to transfer prior customer jobs so the code couldnt be found - lazy) so the shop came up with the closest it could)
Total time - 7 hours from start to finish with a 15 min break to eat something.
