This car was fun to detail. I didn`t think the car was in that bad condition. The owner wanted to remove scratches and put some protection on the vehicle.

Some of the RIDS were removed by wet sanding

Here are some before pictures:

First I started by spraying down the wheels with P21s wheel gel and letting it sit and dwell.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01184.jpg

I then hit up the engine bay. I sprayed the bay down carefully avoiding electronics under the hood. I used Meguire`s APC diluted 5:1 and degreaser. I then scrubbed with a soft brush and used the swissvax wheel brush forharder to reach areas. 303 areospace was used to coat the hoses and black wow for the plastics.

After:

I then washed the car by using the two bucket system. I filled up my bucket with a strong solution of Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss and then put a good solution of DP suds and CG CWG into the foam gun. I completed a rinse and then foamed the car and let dwell. Next, I rinsed the car off, foamed again and washed with a shmitt. After, washing, I clayed with Meguire`s blue clay and washed again.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01195.jpg

Next, I used a finger glove to agitate the wheels and cleaned them with the EZ detail brush and Swissvax Brush. The wheels were clay to remove any other contaminants.

After cleaning, I dried the car with PakShak Waffle Weaves and taped the car`s trim with 3m automotive tape.

I decided to use the makita 9227 partnered with a 3m back plate, LC 5.5 orange pad and SIP. In some areas I used a yellow pad and Power gloss. Here are some pics showing the removal of the sanding marks. I used the sun gun to point out the defect. I used the zenith approach, but didn`t go over 1500 rpm.

After

The decided final polish was final polish. I like it because it leaves a very nice gloss.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01206.jpg

I polished the paint work and also the head and tail lamps, by switching to a smaller bp and using 4" orange pads with SIP. After polishing, I used Zymol screen and lens. I think it leaves a very nice finish.

After polishing the paint, I decided to polish the glass with 1Z glass polish. I applied the polish on to a white pad and used the udm on setting 4 to polish. I then wiped off with a mf and applied rain x. I let rain x haze and I buffed it off.

Door jams and residue was cleaned with adam`s quick detailer. I really like this QD.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01211.jpg

I then applied a coat of Swissvax cleaner fluid to leave the paint work nice and clean. It leaves a very nice shine. For protection, I layered Jetseal 109 twice.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01212.jpg

While waiting between coats of jet seal, I decided to put the finishing touches on the wheels. I used swissvax cleaner fluid and autobahn. It left the wheels looking great. I used Swissvax pneu on the tires. I like the look pneu leaves. Sorry about the bad lighting.

Black wow was then applied to the trim of the outside of the car. After application, I buffed off the excess.

After letting jet seal cure, it was time for the LSP. The choice was Swissvax Mystery. It left the paint looking great. I was really impressed. I`ll post these pics later on in the post.

The interior was not too bad. I cleaned the windows with invisiglass and a glass mf and cleaned the plastics with APC. I then treated the interior plastics with 303 aerospace.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01252.jpg

The wood trim was cleaned coated with cleaner fluid and protected with swissvax wood polish.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v628/LanceM/DSC01256.jpg

The leather was cleaned with swissvax leather cleaner, treated with leather milk and left alone for 30 min. After 30 min, I treated the most worn parts (mostly bolsters) with leather glaze.

At this point, I thought the detail turned out well. I really liked Mystery leaves a nice wet look and adds somewhat of a 3d look hard to explain. Thanks for looking!

Wow, that turned out nice!

I like the look of Swissvax Pneu on your tires. I can`t stand glossy looking tires, and Pneu seems to give a nice rich black look without adding much gloss. Does Pneu hold up well?
