i like using the brass one pictured because it has a more powerful fine spray stream and i use it to blast off the majority of the dirt/debris, etc., and use it while washing. then i use the fireman nozzle to flood/sheet the water off right before drying (turn it all the way to one side and you`ll get a blooming type spray pattern). it`s nice with the quick disconnects (i also use a shut-off valve), you can go from one to the other in a snap...

Al, does the Sears fireman nozzle shut off in both directions? The cheap one I got from Wal-Mart years ago didn`t, but the Bon-Aire fireman nozzle like the one Autopia sells does. Even using quick disconnects with a shut-off valve I like having that feature. If the Sears offers that it`s a very good buy plus it`s available locally.

i believe it only shuts off in one direction (use to have one a long time ago and lost it somewhere in the garage :( )...

The nozzle is not what makes the stream powerful.
Discharge pressure from the source, hose diameter and friction loss will determine GPM`s (among other variables)
THIS is and example of a fireman`s nozzle....

175 GPM with selectable fog and solid stream will clean a vehicle very well.
Firemen have cool foam systems that also make good presoaks...

Gilmour makes good consumer household nozzles for garden hoses.
