I`m hearing everyone talking about putting sealant on the rims, which is new to me. I have a bunch of 4 Star UPP laying around. How well would this work on the tires after a good tire shine?

I don`t think it would bond . There are selants designed for tires .Such as the Ultima tire and trim guard, The lord fusor and 1 or 2 others that I can`t remember their names at the moment.

You are talking about two different things. Rims are the wheels, Tires are what go on the wheels. Putting a sealant on a tire probably wont get you much. Putting one of the products you have on the wheels might get you some protection. Lots of people put zaino, or OS, and other wheel sealants.

Sealant on the rims helps get the brake dust to come off easier :)
