I acquired a 93 Civic from my brother in law who purchased it new. The car has 50k on the clock and looked like new except for the typical Honda rust. Since I didn`t have any money into it I decided it was worth putting new inner and outer rear quarters on it with a set of wheels. The car looks like it was in a time capsule except for the slight fading of the red paint on the drivers door and roof. You can only see it in the right light but being the perfectionest I would like to try to correct it. I have used Menzerna SIP (orange pad) and 106FF (charcoal pad) on the car with good results but it didn`t quite bring the color back. any suggestions? would wetsanding & polish bring it back? I have no problem leaving it as is but why not practice a few new techniques.

I`d probably try a chemical cleaner.....something like Klasse AIO.

I have seen it many times on this color honda where the paint fades under the clearcoat. No matter how much you polish, the paint will never be shiny.

The paint is shiny and swirl/scratch free but it is a shade off. Unfortunately I think it is under the clear coat and can`t be restored.
