View Full Version : Two questions: TW & Glass Wipes

I usually use a glass spray and am not wedded to any brand. But, sometimes I`d like to just easily touch up spots and not use those grody, dirty gas station squeegies. A friend suggested the Armor All Glass wipes, but I`ve heard mixed reviews. There are so many to choose from at Pepboys.
Does anyone have any thoughts on using these inside and/or outside?
My other question was re: Total Wax Ice Interior Care. This stuff looked like it would really work in the package, but it was $10. Has anyone used it? Is it worth it compared to Meguire`s detailer?
Thanks guys.

Welcome to the forum! The only wipe I have used is the Meguiar`s glass wipes, and they do a decent job for a quick fix. However, you might want to search here for a better glass solution for you. As far as the Ice, never used it. However, I really like the Meguiar`s quick interior detailer for an in-between detail wipedown.

I`ve never had any luck with the armor all glass wipes. I got a lot of streaking from it. I use Eagle One 20/20 (which I swear by and is priceless to me for streak removal), but I think that most here use stoners invisible glass.

I used the Stoner`s Invisible Glass Aerosol for years... Until I bought Griot`s Garage Glass Cleaner...

I`d just carry some of your favorite glass cleaner with you in a smaller 4 or 8 ounce spray bottle with some cheap low nap MF`s for quick touch-ups.
Stoner Invisible Glass Pump Spray: Non-aerosol formula cleans automotive glass to crystal clarity! clean glass, windshield cleaner, window cleaner, (http://www.autogeek.net/glass-cleaner.html)

The Stoner`s Invisible Glass can usually be found locally at Wal-Mart. Another locally available glass cleaner that got a good review recently was Windex No Drip (http://www.windex.com/nodrip.asp):

I do like the Surf City glass cleaner but haven`t decided if I really like it better than Stoner`s yet or not. The Windex No Drip I have not yet tried but will probably pick some up because I like to use Windex on a lot of non-glass surfaces.

Armor All glass wipes always left little pieces of the pad on my windows. Lately I`ve been using dp krystal vision glass cleaner with 2 waffle weave MF`s and it works great.

I find that wipes leave streaks. You don`t buff the glass dry. I find that if you don`t buff the glass dry you get streaks, regardless of the cleaner. Some more noticeable than others, but in the right light, they are still there.
Haven`t used the TW stuff. TBH, I haven`t been overly impressed with much of their stuff.

I agree with BigLeegr, that regardless of what manufacturers wipes I use, they tend to leave debris and streak. My go to glass cleaner/polish is No Streek now. I apply with a small mf applicator, wait till haze than wipe with a MF cloth. (absolutely no streaks or residue).
As far as the TW Ice interior detailer, I have used it and it works rather well. It imparts a nice smell, cleans without streaks and leave a natural finish. My only problem with this product is the cap on the bottle makes it difficult to apply the right amount. I would find it comparable to Meguiars QID.
