Search the forums for something similar but did not find the answers. So here`s the question:

I know that the recommended Edge pad for the PC7424 is the 6" DA, but is there any reason why not to step up to the 8" ones on a PC7424? Would the vibration be really difficult to handle on with the 8" fitted even with the shorten adpator?

Anyone who have tried would like to comment?

OK on a rotary the bigger pad means more working area and more tip speed.
On a DA if you have too much resisance you will jiggle one spin. that is why most people will step down to a 4 inch pad to do spot work with the DA less resistance to spin.

so a 8 inch pad would not work well :horse:

Vibration isn`t going to change much if at all . The bigger pad will most likely wear your bearings out sooner. The PC isn`t made to handle 8" pads . Stick with the 6" Edge pad .

Don`t use 8 inch pads, they don`t move at all like 7.5 ot 6.5 inch pads and personally funny to watch work. Only advantage is a tiny tiny bit more surface area.
