I`ve read about how some products will stain trim, but I`m not sure exactly what everyone is talking about. I think I even used that phrase before without knowing what I was talking about, huhaha.

Some old pics of my `96 Z28, from back in 2004 or so when I first discovered Poorboy`s Trim Restorer. :D

Notice the disgusting white stains...these are from carelessly waxing with a product that does indeed stain trim, obviously.

And what is the best product/way to clean the "stained" trim?

Usually a stiff brush (an old toothbrush works well) with some all purpose cleaner/degreaser works well if the stains are too stubborn. Otherwise, I like using Poorboy`s Trim Restorer since it does a nice job cleaning and dressing trim.

I recently found out turtle wax ice polish also works great.

mothers back to black is another choice i`ve successfully used. just check out my recent post to get an idea of the before and after results: http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-brag/111493-1989-porsche-944-turbo-first-c-b.html

for weather seals i`m switching up my product to Shin Etsu Grease made by Honda. i`ve heard great things, and recently picked up a tube. of course for 20 bucks for 100g tube - this stuff better be God`s gift to weather strips!

I removed this with a Mr Clean Magic Eraser, and a little bit of my wash water/soap.

Geez 20 bucks for a tube of grease? Talk about overpriced. For rejuvenating weather seals I just use wd-40. Wipe it, let it soak, and then coat with silicone grease. Wd-40 softens rubber, people actually use it to increase traction in remote control cars and to reswell rubber o-rings. The grease helps seal in the oils better and prevent it from drying out again.
