Car was bought in early May of this year so it was a little over 3 months old. From my past experience with this G37 in black (http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-brag/108669-2008-black-infiniti-g37.html), I knew to expect some swirling but wow, I must say that this has been the most swirled up car I have worked on and it was only 3 months old.

Apparently it was taken to another detailer when it was first bought and apparently did not do a good job. I figured it was clayed but it was full of bonded contaminants. So on with the process:

Optimum No Rinse QD strength

Foam cannoned the car again to remove leftover contaminants

Getting the foaming trigger for the APC really does help its cleaning power. Notice the brown tire gunk coming off.

Can`t forget the wheel wells. Wells were sprayed with APC first and left to dwell for 5 minutes.

Car is prepped for polishing. I raised the hood to allow better access to the edges without fear of burning the paint on the fenders

I proceeded to tape off the emblem and lettering after the photo was taken.

Deep scratches on the rear bumper

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3223/2845733446_2635450a45_o.jpg

Scratch on left was removed but scratch on the right was too deep to completely polish out without removing alot of clear coat. It needed to be touched up and wet sanded to be fully removed.

Great work, and nice job on the documentation. Those cars get in bad shape quite easily, but they look incredible when they`re properly polished like that one is now.

was it easy to correct the paint? it seems really soft.

IME, the black paint on the 350z and G35/37 is super easy to work on. I was able to correct paint that looked like that before, and make it match that after with 106ff and PFW only (As a funny test).

Great job on an awesome car. I also really enjoyed your documentation. Nice photography as well. Is that car from Canada or did they just change out the spoiler?

Very nice work and thanks for sharing it. Black is very rewarding when it comes out like that.
