Okay, I plan on driving up to Sonoma tomorrow to go to Infineon Raceway, and of course, there`s going to be an all out war of me vs the road. I JUST got my car back, and it`s nice and painted along with a new hood and bumper, and I don`t want rock chips! I was thinking of buying blue painters tape, how much do I need?

My front end looks just like that, I have the same hood and bumper. Also, up to where should I cover the car? Thanks!

[EDIT]

Oh yeah, what about damage? I heard it`s not supposed to, but is there anything I should do to the car before applying it? Remember, I JUST took delivery of my car today, so it`s fresh paint.

Buy a couple rolls of 3m painters tape and cover up the front end. Usually 2 coats of it will do.

+1 for 3m tape

you won`t be the only sports car owner to protect their car this way:

Well I know it`s safe, but my biggest concern is the fact that my paint is so fresh. I just called up my body shop, he said they cure the paint pretty good, but he said it`s probably not a good idea because I wanna let the solvents out or whatever.

Well I think I`m going to take my body shop`s advice and not tape it because you`re supposed to let it fully cure for thirty days before you cover it up or anything, so I guess I`ll just have to drive careful and pick who to drive behind and who not to drive behind.

Well, I drove carefully, and I raced the car at the drag races, I had a blast! I have NO rock chips, but it is full of bugs and dust :(. What would you guys recommend to clean them off, keeping in mind it`s brand new paint?
