Any one been working with these pads? They are suppose to be super soft and only have 100 Pores/inch, vs 60 p/in (red/blue). It is claimed that they are great for putting wax and final polishes because of the low pore count.

The red LC ones I use to apply glazes and some waxes and they are great.

World`s softest finishing foam pads!

That`s no exaggeration. This custom, hybrid foam is the world`s softest finishing foam. The actual foam is a German formula but made in the USA exclusively for Lake Country Mfg. These Gold, Concours Finishing Pads are engineered for applying the final wax or sealant to create the absolute best shine.

To put this new, gold foam in perspective, it has a cell count of 100 pores per inch compared with Lake Country`s Red and Blue Finishing Foams which have a cell count of 60 pores per inch. That`s forty percent softer! The extra cell count means these gold pads disperse wax and sealants more evenly. Remember the flatter and more uniform you make the surface, the greater the light reflection (shine). While most enthusiasts understand this principle when applied to polishing, the same is true of finishing. The more uniformly you apply the final wax or sealant, the greater the shine.

Cheers,

GREG

I actually prefer denser pads like white when applying LSP, especially waxes. I am able to spread carnaubas easier.

100 PPI is smaller pore size than 60 PPI. That allows the wax to sit on the surface of the pad better. Should work great for AIO`s. I`d do sealants and waxes by hand.

My question is low pore count might mean the product gets hung up in these larger pores?

Cheers,

GREGI think you have your pore count backwards.

I wonder if this pad could take jeweling/burnishing up a notch?

I stop by CMA about 2 weeks ago and saw these pads and they felt very smooth ( better than the red ones) and to me they be great for that final step.

LC should have picked a different color.

That was my first thought too. And yeah, gold sucks, for some reason it seems dirty to me.

I like the red pads for wax and sealants. I only use orange, white and red anyway. Though I do like blue for glazes and green for the 1Z AIO stuff.

So no one has used these?

Dang, they`ve been out all of two weeks. Why don`t you try them and let us know.

I have used them. They are nice pads with a rounded edge. They spread wax just like butter on toast. Very similar to Meguiars new black pads. Thumbs up here.

The red pads are good also. I`d say keep using your red pads then get the yellow. But I do like the Gold better.
