In March of 1999 I started the original Autopia web site. It had but a single purpose, to share information and educate car enthusiasts on the proper way to detail a car. In 2001, Autopia expanded to become the detailing enthusiast community we are now.

A lot has changed in nearly 10 years, but one thing has remained the same. Autopia exists to share information for the enjoyment of making cars "picture perfect". To this end I have revamped my original article publishing system and started the process of updating my detailing articles. The new Autopia Articles (http://articles.autopia.org) area is now available from the menu bar. The "AUTOPIA LEARNING LIBRARY" area in the forum will be phased out.

When I am finished, the articles will contain very little information about the products I prefer and use myself. Also, the revised articles will no longer contain any links to my favorite products, as they have in the past. Instead, it is YOU, the Autopia members and supporters who will decide what product content are displayed alongside each article page.

On each article page you will find three items from the Autopia Shopping catalog and three items from Autopia Reviews. By writing reviews, you will be directly influencing the products seen by others.

The revised Autopia Articles will have new sections, as well. The first new section is "Product Spotlights". For this section I am asking supporters to contribute articles and advertorials. Product Spotlight articles will also be featured on the home page. I am looking to find as many as two or three articles for this section each month, so if you have an interesting new product and want exposure to our audience, please contact me.

P.S., Please report Autopia Articles program bugs here. No need to report article formatting issues. I know about them and will fix them as I revise each article.

Great idea. I learned a lot from the first how-to and this one looks even better. Those product reviews on the side should be really helpful too. Thanks.

Where do we post comments like this?

Is there a way to get email notifications when something is added to Classified Ad section? Items posted there do not show up when I use the "new post" option since they are no longer in the forum threads?

Bunky,

I have not turned on comment posting for the articles. I will in the near future. The reason is that I have not integrated the two applications and the spammers keep attacking the article system with the porn and cell phone junk.

Classifieds does not yet have a subscription feature like the forums. I`m not sure if the developer of the software plans to include that feature or not.
