Hi all. MY 87 GN has finally got new paint (black of course) that is about 4 months old now and i`m looking for advise on what would be a good `first` wax to use? Car has a two stage base/clear coat and has been wet sanding and now ready for wax. Thanks!!

Is it polished? If so, what did you use to correct the wet sanding?

The body shop used 3M Imperial hand glaze to `buff` out the clear. Otherwise, there`s no other polishes or chemicals that I know of. Hope this helps.

If the paint is free of defects then theres a ton of waxes out there. If you want a pure nuba, Souveran comes to mind. Little pricey, about 85 bucks for a tub, but looks awesome on black.

FK 1000p topped with FK Pink Wax, this is goin to be what I am using on my friends 70 mach 1 that was repained black with silver stripes. Just placed my order with FK1 (great people on the phone I must add).

Welcome dude. Another GN owner!!

I use a carnuba on my car. I love to use RMG topped with a carnuba. S100 looks super nice on black and I also like my Pink Wax as someone else already mentioned. The s100 to me looks more "warm" though.

Try a IPA/water 50/50 wipedown to ensure that all of the defects are removed before applying a LSP.
