This is my second C&B and I have to say its worse then the first (http://www.autopia.org/forum/click-brag/108878-first-c-b-sisters-02-vw-beetle-lots-pics.html). I do a couple cars a week (usually just quick interior with wash/polish) but sometimes my family members ask me to do their cars. This is my uncles 2005 GMC envoy (110,000 miles). He owns greenhouses/a dog so its used for everything, hauling plants, dog carrier, junk carrier, lol. He was leaving for Ohio (this morning) and wanted it clean for the ride with his wife. I got the car Thursday morning and finished Friday night. My main concentration was on the carpets/interior as they was the the worst. The exterior just got the quick wash (no polishing).

Exterior

Two bucket wash with Surf City Pacific Blue Wash and Wax (was out of Duragloss 901)

Surf City Road Trip on front end and rockers (This stuff is awesome)

Meguiars APC (4:1) on wheel wells, frame, tires and door jambs

Interior

Vacuum with shop vac (6hp), this took the longest. Was vacuuming, brusing, vacuuming, brushing...

Carpet/seats spots treated with 303 carpet cleaner

Carpets/seats scrubbed with a mix of Meguiars APC (4 ounces) and Oxy Brite (1-2 tablespoons)

"Extracted" with the BLGM (I highly suggest this to any weekend detailer, amazing at how much stuff is pulled out, also get the heated version)

All interior panels scrubbed with Meguiars APC (4:1)

All interior panels protected with 303.

All glass cleaned with Stoners Invisible Glass.

I have to say the carpets were the worst thing in the world, dog hair, bark/small twigs embedded into the carpet. I couldn`t believe how much dirt was pulled out with the BLGM even after a vacuum (which looked halfway clean). I purchased it just before I did the detail (big purchase for my poor college self, lol), and have to say its one of the best tools I`ve purchased.

The dirty water from the BLGM

I went through 5 dirty water containers, the 6 was about halfway full.

Great job!! what was your process on cleaning the door jambs?

Thanks guys for the feedback!! They were more than thankful and kept telling me how nice it looked. I got paid $150 (low income detailing, lol), but he does stocks and stuff for me so I was more than willing to do it (even if it was for free, well maybe a little money, lol).

On the door jambs I used a wax and grease degreaser/cleaner (the stuff they use to wipe vehciles before they paint as I worked in a bodyshop for 4 years until this year when I quit). I am going to order some Meguiars degreaser on my next order though. as even the Meguairs APC full strength wasn`t cutting it. As it was a soilded layer of grease/dirt. I just soaked the jambs with it, let it sit for a minute, then took various brushes (small vent brushes, toothbrushes, ear cue tips etc) to scrub the grease. Then I used a piece of cardboard and put it in the door opening so water wouldn`t get into the interior. Then just blasted the jamb with a stream of water, scrubbing a little. Then I did the same process with the meguiars APC to do the final clean.

Beyond braggin` rights. Family member aside I would have declined or asked for $450 up front to start the job. Unc better get you some damn good stocks!

I am very impressed with the job you did on the jambs. They are difficult to clean fully on that particular car, and to get them like that takes skill. :)

Trashed!! great job!

How did the 4:1 APC work on the doorjambs. Did it melt all that dirt off pretty easily?

Thanks man.

Actually I know I posted I used 4:1 on the jambs, I should have edited that part.
