Does anyone know if you can use purple wool pads with a finishing polish? Or should I use LC white to finish down. Thanks!

PFW isn`t going to allow you to finish down all of the way no matter what you use with it. Use the white LC foam.

Why would you do that :grinno: Use a finishing pad, like an LC blue pad

I agree with Buegie, the Purple Foamed Wool Pad finishes down so nicely that 70% of the time, a polishing pad is not needed so you can to a finishing pad like a LC Black, Blue, or Red pad.

But to address the Orig Posters question, I guess you could use a finishing polish with the PFW Pad but you would probably get more cut than what you wanted in the first place and therefore might as well have used a compound polish.

Wool is a product intended for correction. Foam is not, in most cases. It`s made to finish and create a beautiful gloss. Nonetheless, I will use wool all the down to Intensive Polish (medium to medium-light corrective ability).

On soft paints, you will need a finishing pad. On harder paints, a polishing pad will be sufficient.

I recently polished my wife`s 2006 BMW 325i with M105 and PFW on a rotary. It finished down amazingly well, but that is probably because the clear coat on that car is rock hard. I still finished with Menzerna 106FF and a white foam pad, which seemed to add a little gloss.
