Nice! I liked the old pads, still have two and I only use on my car.

Being able to just throw them in the washing machine will be great. Plus I am looking forward to trying out the new foam on the cutting pad. They said you can now use it with a PC.

do they come smaller?

because I am quite sure 7" is too big for the PC

I wonder how they rate against the more expensive brands... anyone try yet?

nothing new and are the same foam as the w8000 series. these are are just diffferent in size, and have better laminate so they can be machine washable...

these new pads are only available in this size, as the 6.5" and 8" pads will stay the same with no changes. for the Flex users, these should work out pretty well...

I`ll have to run by my Meguiars distributor and get some. Looks like they will fit a 6.5" backing plate perfectly.

I`ll probably stick with the 6.5`` ones since I have a few of them already that I`ve yet to use. Oreilly auto part stores can order the older 6.5`` & 8`` pads at a reasonable price(around $11/pad) by the way. I had my local store order me some earlier this year and they had them in stock for me to pick up in one business day.

I`m not sure that your assessment is accurate. On the product release posts on MOL they specifically note that it is a NEW foam technology in addition to the changed sizes and backing. :hm

i was looking at this specification noted in red for the polishing pad...

Key Features:

Exact same foam as current W8000 series foam

Eliminates minor surface defects while restoring gloss

7" pad combined with new technology provide a smooth buffing experience

High tech laminate provides durability and is machine washable

Recessed backing for easy centering

For use with rotary or D/A polisher

edit (looked at each individual pad description): looks like the polishing pad is the same foam as stated above, where as the cutting and finishing pad are new foam technology (wonder why the polishing pad didn`t change as well :nixweiss )...

I was hoping for small ones too. I really like the Megs foam but have made the switch to 5" LC pads because of the size. Now if they would make some 4" pads I would be really happy. I was also wondering if they where more based on the power of the G110 instead of the G100.

They look great!

I`ve always liked Megs pads but found them too small for my BO6040. These 7" pads will be perfect!!

I`ve always liked the Meg`s foam as well, but hated their velcro backing. If these new ones really do hold up, Meg`s will definately have a hit IMO.
