I got this car from a local client after another detailer had a go at correcting the paint. It sounded like the typical hack job, car looked great when he picked it up but after a wash removed the fillers, the paint looked terrible again. It was covered in swirls, buffer trails, and some water spots.

The paint was very soft, and to my surprise appeared to be single stage (lots of red transfer on the pads). It took a good amount of work to finish it down, and I kept having to pull it out in the sun to make sure it was fully corrected without buffer trails. Here are some before pics:

As you can see, the paint looked pretty bad. He wanted a 2-step correction, along with removing the pinstripes. Turned out to be a good 8-9 hours of work.

The process I used was as follows:

Exterior prep:

-Wheels w/ Megs Wheel Brightener cut 4:1

-Tires/wells w/ Simple Green cut 4:1

-Wash w/ Megs Gold Class w/ foam gun and 2 bucket method

-Clay w/ Sonus Green and ONR as lube

-Removed pinstripes w/ heat gun and goo gone

Correction:

-SIP w/ LC Purple Foamed Wool @ 1600rpm (used 4" CCS White on small areas)

-3M Ultrafina w/ Megs Solo Finishing pad @ 1700rpm (used 4" CCS black on small areas)

Finishing:

-Optimum Poli-Seal w/ CCS Blue via PC @ Speed 4

-Optimum Car Wax by hand

-Collinite 850 on exhaust tips

-CG Silk Shine on tires

-303 Aerospace Protectant on engine bay

Interior:

-Vacuum

-Megs QID on all plastics/dash

-Stoner IG on windows

-Plexus on gauge cluster/head unit face

Here are some after pics which were sent to me by the customer. By the time I finished it was getting late so I didn`t have a chance to take any myself.

I know this is old but NFR has a tinted clear coat, that`s where the red on the pad comes from.
