Clear Coat oxidation color comes off

I have a question for you guys that know about this stuff. I have a 95 ford truck that needs attention. I recently washed it and used a clay bar on the hood to see what would happen. The clay bar turned green which is the color of my truck. Does this mean my clear coat is gone or did I ever have a clear coat? What should I do at this point to get my truck looking better and delay the inevitable paint job?

It`s possible that you have single stage paint.

Is the green identical? I`m wondering if it`s just a coincidence that the contamination that`s being transferred to the clay is similar?

I have clayed my silver truck and blue car and both turned the clay green, must be something on the car. Do a test with a polish on the car, if the color transfers then it is SS.
