I have several coats of Collonite 476 applied on my `cuda. I wanted to try RMG. Will 2 hand-applied coats of RMG remove the 476?

1.) no it will not remove the 476

2.) there is no point in trying 2 layers, the second layer would just remove the first

3.) RMG is best on bare paint where it can "fill" in the paint

4.) need pics of `cuba

Hello

By hand RMG wont remove 476, the question is; will appling RMG over 476 make any difference thats worth while doing?

The answer is most probably no. RMG works very well at bring out metalic/pearl pop and creating a wet finish. Like all oil based glazes this needs to be applied to paintwork that is unsealed so it get in the pores of your paintwork and work its magic.

Personally i would wait until you go back to polish before applying RMG to get any/all benefits of a great product.

RMG has some nasty, nasty solvents in it. Honestly, I don`t think the stuff is VOC compliant at all. Not that I care, cause I love the stuff so much. But I think that the solvents would remove just about any LSP on your paint. Applying RMG first, and letting the solvents dry/evaporate, is the trick. After the solvents are gone, RMG makes a great base for wax LSP`s.

:funnypostwhat are you crazy...................J/K

I base my statment on the fact that I have use the combo RMG + EX-P + NB + RMG

for many a car show and after a rain or wash the layer of RMG on top is gone(gee ya think!)

but the water still has the tight beads of water like the NB is still there

so I think if NB can hold up to RMG, 476 should do just fine

And 476 markets itself as being "detergent proof", so you very well could be right, Jim. :)

Good information - not surprising with the cats doing the posting. My problem? Where da` pics of the Cuda at? :D

Seriously though...I never thought of trying RMG on top of NB. Hmmm....
