Gents please help!, just recieved my Matika from the US. Trouble is the bcking plate is far bigger than my normal CCS pads, does the backing plate need to be smaller as with my PC?, it looks to be about 7" in diameter. ALSO am I right in applying 3 small drops of polish on the pad as per PC use, or do you spread it on the panel when using a rotary. Sorry they are the same old boring questions.

Many thanks from across the water.

............. the backing plate is far bigger than my normal CCS pads, does the backing plate need to be smaller as with my PC?............Yes, it needs to be smaller than your pads. Not sure what size pads you`re using, but contact (e-mail) Bob at Danse (http://www.danase.com/) or Patrick at ExcelDetail (http://www.exceldetail.com/) and they should be able to fix you up with the size BP you need.

Edit: better yet, maybe you can can order one of these (if a 5" BP is what you need):

3M 125 mm Perfect-it III-Rotary Backing Plates - 3M Car Care and Detailing Products (http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/3m-125-mm-perfect-it-III-rotary-backing-plates-polish.html)

We`re having to pay up to $70 for one of them since that size isn`t sold in the states. You`ll need the one with 5/8" threads if your rotary came from the states.
