I plan to get a rotary later this summer, but in the meantime, can ultrafina be effectively broken down with just a porter cable? If so, what pad should I use, as I`ve heard the US only receives the 8" version of the 3m blue (is that right?)?

"epbcivicsi" uses it with a white pad on the PC I believe.

Yeah, you only get the 8" pad in the US, but I use it with a grey/black LC pad sometimes, and get good results.

I white padded it for my Flex and was SUPER impressed!

Scottwax gets the 6" from his local distributor in Dallas no problem.

3M makes a black/gray finishing waffle pad that`s almost as soft as their blue UF version. It`s available in 5 1/4" and makes an excellent combo for Ultrafina......

Shouldn`t about any polish work with a DA? Its just that the results are always a bit more impressive if done by rotary, right?

IIRC, Supe claims that the Edge red foam finishing pad is just as soft as the 3M blue foam waffled pad.

UF does fine by PC. I use a LC 6.5" blue pad by PC or rotary with great results.
