I was washing my truck today and noticed a few more paint chips since the last time I washed it. Are there any waxes/sealants on the market that actually add to the durability of paint to the point where it can be more chip resistant?

Some will claim that GLARE will do it because GLARE lays down a glass like barrier on your car. The product is called "GlasPlexin" which is a silicate. It claims to "bond to paint on the molecular level" but this is nothing speacial as all sealants bond to the paint on a molecular level. Will it stop your paint from chipping? I highly doubt it but a paint protection film will.

You need some crazily thick sealant to do that. I suppose that when Rabbi had 20 layers of UPP on that might have added some chip resistance, but other than that you do need some sort of plastic to really be sure you`re protected.

I seriously doubt it. :)

I`m with jaredpointer on this one... I doubt there is anything on the market that will help in or stop paint chipping. If there is i think it would be a widely known product.

A 3M clear bra would help, thats the only thing that will for sure.
