I drive a 2006 Honda Civic Si and have an unlevel scrape on the front left bumper. I`ve also got a cut from backing into a license plate of another car on the rear bumper. Is it possible for me to use the same wetsanding procedure to repair the scrape considering the bumper is plastic? I`ve sanded it down but the bumper appears to be crater-like. I do not think I can use the capilary action method to fill the scrape with touch-up paint either because the scrape is not sharp but very gradual.

Here are the pictures:

It will take several spray paint and sand applications to level it up, don`t rush it will take 2-3 days to do a good job !

I have done many repairs like that and you can`t tell the scrape was ever there !

Is the repair only possible with spray paint? I`ve already read plenty of threads on repairing scratches but nothing really in particular to the bumper.

Be careful wet sanding or you`ll go through the clear coat. Is there any reason you sanded before you built up the glob of paint (last picture)? Also, what grit paper were you sanding with?

I sanded before the built up glob of paint because my dad did a bad job of touching it up after he scraped it. I didn`t know about it until later, after he had decided to touch it up himself. I used a 800 grit because the 1500 was not happening. I probably went through the clear but I figured I`d have to start all over again because the scrape had originally gone through the clear. I was thinking, touch it up again, sand it, then put a coat of clear over it.

I`ve already looked at the first 2 posts you`ve refered but none of them can really give me an idea of what to do for the crater-like scrape on my car. I appreciate the help!
