I just spent about 6 hours washing; using Meguiars clay & #34 Final Inspection to remove spots of tar and brake dust; and applying a nice coat of Collinite 476 to my white 2007 F150.

I`ve got to admit, I really love the way the truck looks and feels with the Collinite wax on it.

This is a routine that I plan to do 2 or 3 time a year.

Which leads me to my questions...

*Is there a product that I can apply between waxing to keep that slick, fresh waxed feeling? I was hoping for something that could be sprayed on the wet truck right after I wash it. And something that wouldn`t harm all the black plastic parts.

*What kind of cloth works best for drying a clear coat finish after washing.

Thanks for the advice.

Tim

Meguiars Ultimate Quik Detailer works out great for just that.

Some other users use some other stuff too.

Lot`s of good stuff out there but BigAl3 hit on my two favorites with the FK 425 (http://www.fk1usa.com/products-professional.htm) and the Monterey WW (http://www.prestostore.com/cgi-bin/store.pl?ref=exceldetail&ct=29280&pd=133820).

I use Prima Hydro or the Malco Aqua wax during drying. They both give stellar results.

I like the spray and wipe wipe down after washing(at one of the fire stations I HAVE to do it because of hard water) you could also use spray and gloss. Steve had a new QD+ or something I`ve got a knee injury so i haven`t been able to really test is out but my first thoughs are GREAT it left my GF`s truck very very slick and i was happy. (it`s purlpe with a great smell)

as far as towels.. I stick with the poorboys one as thatis what i like but I`ve used the meg`s ones also(gold with black trim)

Definitely a good waffle weave MF towel - hopefully with little work to do following a good `flood` rinse. I generally mate the spray-on product to whatever topcoat is on the car. S&G works great on top of Natty`s (blue..red...) wax, for example. Some great recommendations in this thread, though.

Instead of spraying chemicals on top of your wax coat, you could use Nature`s Style Magic Spray and Wipe and clean your truck without scratching the paint. This product does not remove the wax and leaves no water stains. The nice thing is the time to clean a car or truck. I need 20 min for my car and about 25 min for my truck. That`s about the time to dry it after a normal wash.

You can find it at Waterless Car Wash - Green Product - Save Water - Save Time - Save the Earth with Magic Style (http://carmagic.us)

Yeah, I didn`t quite understand why Aaron got banned. It didn`t appear (to me, at least) that he was *promoting* his products, just answering questions and providing very basic support. But I guess that`s not for *us* to decide... I guess the mods saw something that we didn`t. However, this Rothaus guy is a spammer of the worst variety, and he`s been here since January. I`ve reported every one of his spamming posts. Let`s see what happens.

Maybe its because the moderators have a life and are not on this site 24/7. We do the best we can.
