I am trying to talk the wife into letting me get the LGM by Bissell. I just got a Shark lol. What is the process used for extracting carpets with this machine? Brush the carpet to free up loose dirt/particles, vacuum? Then spot treat stains with say Folex? Just use an apc for the rest of the dirty/soiled areas? Then just vacuum with the LGM? Do you have to spray the floor/mats with water before extracting? Is that the correct procedure? Just wanting to make sure.

My wife has an upright Bissell 2x heat vacuum with an attachment that I might try and see how it works.

I also have a big Craftsman wet/dry vac. How would you go about extracting with it?
