Well this is a "free" detail I did for my brother-in-law this past weekend. He helps us a lot by hauling stuff every now and then so I re-payed him with this detail.

This was not a full correction by any means. I spent 3 hours on the exterior counting the wash/dry and I spent 1.5 hours on the interior, glass, and toolbox. 4.5 hours total.

It`s been a year and a half since I detailed this truck last and he kept it in really good shape through that time and it was garage kept since the last detail.

Process:

Friday night:

--Exterior washed with 2 buckets

--Dried

--Checked with clay but didn`t need it. I guess the garage kept and not driven every day helped

--Polished a couple of spot areas with SSR2.5 and 5.5" LC orange (literally 2 small areas)

--Polished entire truck with Optimum Poli-Seal and 5.5" LC white (speed 6)

--DG105 as LSP on paint

--Chrome and wheels got EX-P

--Hot Shine on tires

Saturday morning:

--Cleaned interior

--Polished Toolbox with Jeff`s Werkstatt Prime and 5.5" LC orange speed 6 (I think I ruined the pad)

--Aquawax wipedown on exterior

--Glass cleaned with Invisible Shield

Meh...I think that was all. I wanted to clean up the paint a little with OPS, but there were still a lot of RIDS left. I may revisit when I get a rotary.

I guess I get no replies since I didn`t do a full blown correction on the truck. Oh well....lesson learned for next time I post a C&B.

First off, I like that blue color. I don`t know that I`ve ever seen a truck that color before.

Nice job on the tool box ! :waxing:

That is the same body style as my 1996 GMC. Great job on it really. Mine is still in pretty good shape, and that one seems like it is too. You really did enough correction on the paint given the age and daily driven nature of that truck.

I never get more than like 3 responses, but a bunch of ppl look so I don`t know how to take that either.

Nice job anyway, that truck got more love from you than it`s seen in a long time, huh?

Most people just look to see how it turned out. You did a great job but you don`t need a hundred people to tell you that. As long as the customer is happy and you`re happy that`s all that matters.

What a huge turnaround for such a simple process!

Looks awesome

I`m sure your brother was more than happy!

Thanks everybody. I`m always amazed at how much PoliSeal can improve the finish in such a short time. He was very happy and I might have a paying job coming out of it, so that could be a nice bonus.

Next time I see this truck I hope to have my rotary setup going and will shoot for about 95% correction.

He really likes the taillights (I"m not a fan at all of clear tails) so I don`t say anything. Hey...as long as he`s happy with his truck then that`s what matters I guess.

Here`s a few pics of teg in the garage.

Nice job on the truck. Those trucks (in my experience) will go to hell and back, GM really did a great job with the GMT-400s, shows in their resale value up here.
